New Year's in Las Vegas

New Year's Eve 2026 โ€” Strip fireworks off eight rooftops, the biggest countdowns on earth, and the best midnight view from your room. Book early.

๐Ÿฅ‚ Find Your New Year's Hotel

New Year's Eve is the biggest night of the year in Las Vegas. The Strip closes to cars and fills with a few hundred thousand people, fireworks launch off eight hotel rooftops at midnight, and the nightclubs throw the loudest countdowns on earth. It's also the most expensive and fastest-booking night of the year โ€” so the plan matters. Here's where to stay and how to do it.

The fireworks are the whole show

At midnight, fireworks fire from the rooftops of eight Strip hotels at once โ€” an eight-minute show down the whole four-mile corridor. The street party is free: the Strip shuts to traffic in the evening and becomes one long pedestrian zone. If you just want to stand in it, you can, but get there early and know that once you're in, leaving is slow.

The better seat is up high. A Strip-view room or a balcony suite puts the fireworks outside your window with no crowd, no security line, and a warm place to stand. Those rooms book months ahead and command the year's top rates, so the earlier you lock one, the better.

The club countdowns

If midnight means a party, the nightclubs run the biggest ones anywhere. XS at Encore, Hakkasan at MGM Grand, Omnia at Caesars, and Zouk at Resorts World all throw New Year's Eve countdowns with headline DJs and a balloon drop at twelve. Tables and tickets go on sale months out and sell through โ€” book as early as you can, and expect New Year's pricing on everything.

Where to stay for New Year's Eve

The right room on New Year's Eve is worth more than any other night of the year โ€” it's your fireworks seat, your warm base, and your skip-the-crowd pass. These six put you at the center of it.

Book it now, not later

Nothing in Vegas books earlier or sells out harder than New Year's Eve. Rooms, club tables, and dinner reservations all go months ahead, and prices only climb as the date fills. If New Year's on the Strip is the plan, lock the room first and build everything else around it. Every hotel adds a nightly resort fee of $35 to $55 on top of the rate, and holiday rates are steep to begin with, so compare the all-in price. Coming for the whole week?
