A resort fee (also called a destination fee or amenity fee) is a mandatory daily charge added to your hotel bill — separate from the room rate shown when you search. It covers amenities like pool access, gym use, in-room Wi-Fi, and local phone calls, whether or not you use them.
In Las Vegas, resort fees are essentially universal at Strip and major off-Strip properties. A 3-night stay at a luxury resort can add $135–$165 in fees on top of your quoted rate. Always add the nightly fee to your comparison before booking.
Tip: Hotel Room Discounters member rates sometimes undercut OTA prices enough to offset part of the fee. Always check both.

Downtown Las Vegas and off-Strip properties generally have lower — or no — resort fees.
Caesars Diamond and MGM Platinum members can sometimes have resort fees waived. If you stay at these brands regularly, elite status is worth pursuing for this reason alone.
The Amex Platinum card offers up to $200/year in hotel fee credits at Fine Hotels + Resorts properties. Some Hilton and Marriott cards waive resort fees for elite members.
Downtown properties like Circa and The D charge no resort fees. Palace Station and Eastside Cannery charge $20 or less. Factor the savings into your cost comparison.
Resort fees change frequently. The figures on this page are approximate guides. Always check the total at checkout — both on OTA sites (which often hide fees until payment) and directly with the hotel.

Strip luxury resorts charge $39–$55/night. Mid-range Strip hotels charge $30–$40/night. Downtown and off-Strip properties range from $0–$25/night. A 3-night Strip stay can add $90–$165 to your bill.
It is difficult. Elite loyalty status (Caesars Diamond, MGM Platinum) sometimes gets fees waived. Some credit cards reimburse them. Staying downtown or off-Strip is the most reliable way to avoid them.
Circa Resort (downtown, 21+), The D Las Vegas, Main Street Station, and Four Queens currently have no resort fee. Off-Strip locals' casinos generally charge less than Strip properties.
